HAPPY "NEW YEAR" AND HURRICANE RELIEF

Hello! While summer weather rages on, summer vacation is over and we have begun another school year!

I am starting my 13th year as Elementary Principal, and I love my job more than ever! It is such a delight to work with loving students and teachers, and their supportive parents, all working toward glorifying Christ through the education of His young ones.

We have a lot to be thankful for, to be sure. Although we are experiencing a record-breaking heat wave in our region, our hearts break for those unfortunate enough to suffer the effects of Hurricane Harvey in the American Gulf Coast region.

Because our Lord has directed us to care for those in need (Matthew 25:31-46), Upland Christian Academy has decided to partner with the Samaritan's Purse organization to send donations for hurricane relief. Samaritan’s Purse is reaching out to partner with churches from Victoria, Texas, to Houston, Texas. They are providing ministry to displaced Americans and then plan to identify the greatest needs and send volunteers in to help with the physical clean-up of homes and recovery of possessions.

And so tomorrow (Thursday, August 31), during Elementary Chapel, we will be collecting a special offering for the relief of victims of Hurricane Harvey. We have chosen to donate to Samaritan’s Purse.

We ask you to partner with us as we pray for and support the victims of Hurricane Harvey with our special chapel offering. We encourage you to send a few dollars (or more!) with your student tomorrow morning. I’ve attached a link if you’d like to read more about what Samaritan’s Purse is doing for disaster relief – and there is a direct link to make an online donation, as well.

Praying the Spirit stirs us all to action,
